About Amit Puni:
My extensive professional journey spans over 20 years in diverse educational settings, both locally in London and internationally in Toronto. Throughout this time, I have held key roles such as secondary school teacher, head of faculty, and professional coordinating mentor, notably at an Outstanding secondary school. At present, I serve as a Senior Lecturer in Education at a local university, where I have spearheaded sections of the secondary PGCE course, playing a pivotal role in preparing new educators for their careers. Additionally, as the England co-lead for the 5 Nations Network for Citizenship and Values Education, I collaborate with various stakeholders, including educators, policymakers, and NGOs, to advance best practices in citizenship and values education.
My academic accomplishments complement my practical experience, positioning me well to comprehend and address contemporary issues in education. Equipped with a PGCE and qualified teacher status, I also hold a Master's degree in Sociology of Education. Currently, I am in the final stages of completing a PhD in Education, specializing in educational attainment patterns and inequalities. Engaging in pertinent conferences and continuous professional development has enabled me to remain attuned to the ever-evolving landscape of education.
