Over 16 years international experience in social care and health: prison, mental health hospital, CAMHS and CMHT; practice educator; trained in DBT,CBT,CAT, RTT, Systemic Practice,DDP,SAVRY.

Professional and work experience:

I was qualified as a social worker in 2006.

I have international professional social work experiences including: 

2007-2016:Social worker in a prison (Bucharest-Romania), working with adults, children and their families. I was responsible for therapeutic programs enabling prisoner’s reintegration into the community.

2016-2019: I was a social worker in Protection and Court Team SouthamptonCity Council and a social worker in SEMH Schools in Southampton UK(Vermont School, The Polygon School, Compass School) which was a project in partnership with Cardiff University.  

2019- August 2022 senior social worker /therapeutic social worker in BRS (Building Resilience and Strenghts service in Southampton )- specialist CAMHS service 3.5 in Tier, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team ( Health both nursing and therapists, Education and Social Care) with children, young people and their families. I worked with families from a mental health and social care and joint prospective. This gave me the opportunity to continue my professional development in the field of crisis intervention and coordinating support for children and young people with severe and complex emotional and behavioural difficulties, from a trauma informed practice. I contributed to the Self Harm rota, jointly provided by BRS & CAMHS, by assessing and analysing risks, creating robust individual care and safety plans. I then coordinated the family and professional networks to prevent escalation of risks. I provided consultation and formulation to professionals and networks, using systemic approach and 5 P formulation model.

I managed, with support from the team, high level of risk and complexity i.e eating disorder, neurodevelopment conditions, morbid obesity, sexual and criminal exploitation, adoption breakdown. 

I worked alongside BRS Family Therapist and BRS Clinical Psychologists drawing from their expertise in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children, young people and their families that I served. 

 

August 2022-present - senior mental health practitioner/ senior social worker/care coordinator CCMHT supporting adults with a variety of diagnoses: EUPD, psychosis etc. to achieve stability and to learn to manage intense emotions. I create risk management plans, in collaboration with CRHTT and AMHP to ensure safety using the MHA. 

I have a baccalaureate degree in teaching (2002) and a bachelor’s degree in Social Work (2006). I have a master’s degree in multidisciplinary approach in Children’s Rights this included Sociology, Social Work, Psychology and Anthropology (2008). 

 

Training:

 

I am trained in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy-informal under weekly clinical supervision, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, SAVRY, PACE, Systemic Practice, Rapid Transformational Therapy and I am looking forward to my DDP training in June 2022. I am facilitating the Emotional Coping Skills group for young people in the community as a part of the DBT pathway promoted by CAMHS/BRS/YOT and I am delivering 1-1 DBT skills to their parents ensuring change both at an individual level as well encouraging family support. 

 

To complete my teaching degree, I have further qualified as a trainee and vocational counsellor. This has been helpful in my work with young people, adults, both individually and in developing and facilitating groups and supervision. I have subsequently delivered lectures to students on the importance of systemic practice in enabling inmates’ reintegration back in the community.
