Angela Brudenell
Upper Management / Consulting
About Angela Brudenell:
I am the CEO of Pride Action North, a charity supporting LGBTQIA+ people across the North East and North of England to live healthier, safer, and more connected lives. With extensive experience in the community and voluntary sector, I lead with a strong commitment to equality, inclusion, and social justice, working to address the systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect LGBTQIA+ communities.
My work focuses on developing inclusive services that promote positive mental and physical health, including peer support, education, training, and partnership working across statutory, voluntary, and community sectors. I am particularly passionate about improving outcomes for transgender and gender-diverse people and ensuring that lived experience meaningfully informs policy, practice, and service design.
Alongside strategic leadership, I value collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based approaches, believing that real and lasting change is achieved through strong partnerships and community-led solutions. I am always keen to connect with like-minded professionals, organisations, and allies who share a commitment to equality and positive social impact.
Experience
I have over three years’ experience in senior leadership within the voluntary and community sector as CEO of Pride Action North. During this time, I have successfully secured funding for multiple projects, doubling the organisation’s annual turnover and strengthening its long-term sustainability. I have led and managed a range of wellbeing initiatives, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable impact for LGBTQIA+ communities.
I am highly experienced in safeguarding, working confidently with both young people and adults at risk, and in line management, providing regular supervision and support to link workers (social prescribers). Alongside strategic and operational leadership, I have extensive experience in event management, having delivered multiple Pride events across Northumberland and co-delivered the international #SaferToBeMe World Summit.
