I'm currently providing live-in care for a 104-year-old gentleman, though I am exploring new opportunities as he may transition to end-of-life care soon. I have been in this role for the past 3 years and have loved it! I also assist my grandmother (93) who's independent and lives with dementia, giving me valuable firsthand experience with memory care needs.

My current role involves similar responsibilities - maintaining routines, providing companionship, and managing household tasks. I understand the importance of patience and clear communication. I'm particularly skilled at speaking clearly and ensuring understanding through visual cues when needed.

I'm experienced with the following:

Routine monitoring and companionship
Light cooking and housework
Medication (reminding and providing)
Supporting mobility (experienced with walking aids, hoists and stair lifts)
Managing incontinence care / catheter
Maintaining clear communication with family

Having supported my grandmother through her journey with onset dementia, I understand the delicate balance between preserving independence and ensuring safety. I've learned the importance of routine, patience, and creating a calm, supportive environment.

I would be available within a few weeks to transition to a new role, allowing time to ensure proper handover of my current client's care. I carry professional care insurance and hold certifications in patient moving and handling.
