ANTHONY LORD ONWONA-AGYEMAN

Teaching has been the sole work I have done for the most part of my working life in Ghana, (a trained teacher) as evident from my CV. I am knowledgeable in content, have high student success rate and have a lot of experience under my sleeves. I have the ability to plan lessons, teach the lesson and assess students accordingly. The many years of working with a large cross-section of students have made me to understand students better in spite of their ages, I am better placed to help them learn difficult concepts and manage other difficulties they may face, be it academic and or social, which help to increase students’ achievement.

More importantly, my teaching goes beyond the classroom settings as I am able to engage students beyond stipulated hours of work when the need be. I teach with each individual student in focus. I manage and control my classes very well and because of the utmost respect I give to my students, they are always ready to comply with the rules we all set for our classes. 

My student-centered approach to teaching, coupled with the way I try to connect students’ relevant previous knowledge to lessons and encourage them to participate fully and contribute to class discussions makes them feel at home and always want to come to my class.

The fair and firm manner in which I handle a class and the friendly atmosphere I create during lessons are also worth mentioning. 

My other acquired skills coupled with my academic background and personality traits make me a right fit for the role I am applying for. 

I am an embodiment of creativity, honesty, humility, team builder, hard work, good communicator and have good interpersonal skills, I am an information literate person, a critical thinker and problem solver, target achiever, quick to learn and adapt, committed to duty, always willing to sacrifice my personal benefit for the greater good and fun to work with.  These qualities, therefore, make me a perfect role model for the students I teach. 

 It may interest you to know that I have the ability to work alone, even though I blend perfectly well and enjoy working in a group due to my aforementioned qualities. I follow rules and regulations governing my work to uphold high standards. 

My affable nature coupled with my past over twenty (20) years of experience in performing a similar role has given me the confidence to be able to perform to achieve high results.
