Antonino Puglisi

I am a highly motivated and energeticresearch scientist with a strong background in organic chemistry. My experience comes from both academia and industry in different areas of the chemical sciences ranging from organic synthesis to drug formulation, from bio-conjugation to supramolecular chemistry. 

In addition to my technical experience, I am a very good communicator; I have strong organizational and motivational skills and proven ability in working in a multi-cultural environment.

I received my MSc and PhD in chemistry at the University of Catania (Italy) to then move to the UK for postdoctoral research (Greenwich University and Sussex University). I then worked in the private sector as a Senior Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd (Oxford – UK), providing chemistry support to the development of a highly innovative biotechnology for DNA sequencing. Subsequently, I was awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowhip at Istanbul Technical University (Turkey). I am currently Lise-Meitner Fellow at University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna working on a project on polymer-coated iron-oxide nanoparticles for biomedical applications.
