I am a proactive, self-motivated young person who has already benefited from training for military selection and 2 weeks of basic training, I am current working in a role building lorry’s and I am seeking a job lifeguarding where I can learn new skills and develop a new career path,
On leaving school I completed selection for the British Army following a lengthy application process and was one of the few who passed from the many who apply. I demonstrated my self-discipline and commitment through training for the challenging selection process. I was successful and gained a place at the prestigious Army Foundation College in Harrogate.
During 2 weeks of Basic Army Training I worked 7 days per week whilst learning personal skills such as self-discipline and high standards. I followed detailed orders and instructions whilst under pressure to meet tight deadlines. I respected core Army values and standards whilst adhering to strict personal appearance regulations. I left the Army because I felt that it was not right for me at this time; at 16 years of age I need more life experience. My unique experience in the Army has made me a better, stronger person and I am more confident.
Prior to commencing Army training I started working in an engineering and building role that I have returned to since discharge from Army training. I am responsible for working with heavy and dangerous machinery using high value material that I cut down to size. Among the challenges are sizing issues where I am required to problem solve without wasting any materials. I am I have learned to work in a team environment under pressure and to meet construction deadlines.
Prior to leaving school I completed work experience at Cob House Café, I assisted in a busy kitchen learning about being organised whilst multi-tasking. I gained an understanding of catering and customer service. I interacted with customers and demonstrated my ability to work well in a team under pressure and to take instruction.
