Sep 2021 – Present Finance Business Partner,Genomics England (Owned by UK Department of Health) - London

▪ Working within the Partnering team alongside Finance, HR and Procurement to manage £100m+ of budgets, contracts and workforce spend.

▪ Part of a team which has successfully rolled out a new Purchase Order system to help future proof a transitioning finance department

▪ Supporting the delivery of national COVID-19, Rare Disease and Cancer projects – Tracking funding, optimising project costs and ensuring cost assumptions and tendering process is adequately challenged

▪ Finance Business Partnering with directoratemanagers to provide financial lens and information to assist decision-making.

▪ Manage production of monthly management accounts and to review these up to CEO level.

▪ Production of quarterly & annual returns to Department of Health Services England, annual statutory accounts and company budgets/plans.

▪ Lead in production of annual budgets, challenge and ensure rigour.  

▪ Business case writing and appraisal, these cases are to be reviewed in the House of Commons.

▪ Providing effective controls and procedures to ensure targets are delivered.

▪ Updating the annual forecast monthly, including the preparation of commentary for accurate financial steer and year-end landing for both operational expenditure and income.

▪ Managing relations with key suppliers including payroll supplier to ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly payroll and returns to HMRC.
