About Asmitha Alagarsamy:

I am a goal-oriented individual with a passion for exploring new automation trends and a strong foundation in electronic communications and computer engineering. I recently graduated with merit from the University of Nottingham with a master’s degree, where I enhanced my knowledge in IT infrastructure, digital communications, instrumentation, and optics and photonics technology. My academic journey culminated in an exciting final project thesis on the Development of a Blood Flow Sensor Using Optical Fibres.

Professionally, I have experience as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant, where I provided L1 and L2 support, managed incident and service tickets, and contributed to application enhancements. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of IT service management and application support, as well as strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

I am eager to connect with organisations that value innovation and technological advancement. Let’s collaborate to drive progress in our field.

Experience

As a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions, I was responsible for managing incident and service tickets for YODA and MDCQ applications. I provided L1 and L2 support, analyzing data, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with Salesforce to correct inaccurate records. Additionally, I worked on application enhancements and contributed to Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) by documenting resolutions for recurring issues. My role also involved weekend maintenance activities, ensuring system stability and performance.

Previously, as a Programmer Analyst Trainee, I received extensive training in MERN stack and webMethodsdevelopment. During this period, I collaborated on developing a Food Delivery website using the MERN stack, demonstrating my ability to apply front-end and back-end technologies. I also designed a shopping UI using JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, and React, enhancing my web development skills. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience in debugging and error handling within webMethods, strengthening my problem-solving abilities in application development.

Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham (2023–2024), where I graduated with Merit. My coursework covered IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, Optical and Photonics Technology, RF Devices and Systems, and Digital Communications. My dissertation focused on developing a Blood Flow Sensor using Optical Fibres, where I gained hands-on experience in optical sensor fabrication and MATLAB-based data analysis.
