I am a qualified dental nurse fdsc with over 4 months full time post qualification experience, in orthodontic nursing, I am looking to work as a orthodontic nurse, get my radiography and hoping to become a orthodontic therapist, whilst doing fdsc I have 7 months experience part time.

8th November 2021 until now – Orthodontics Exclusively:

I am working as a dental nurse, receptionist, admin nurse and orthodontic nurse.

I nurse with orthodontics therapist, orthodontist, and dentist with special interest in orthodontics, both NHS patients and private patients, using such as spark or Invisalign.

I would take responsibilities for keeping patient records and helping for each patient’s appointments clinical notes to be up to date and accurate.

I would chairside support as an orthodontic nurse.

Give oral health education and instructions to patients and patients guardians.

I would ensure that the correct equipment is available for each patient very efficiently.

I would go through with patients regarding their medical history.

My work as a orthodontic nurse has so far helped me expand on my knowledge about the head anatomy; chair side support in a orthodontic practice, learnt in depth how tooth are aligner perfectly using different types of braces, all the health and safety aspects, radiography, GDC principles, how the clinical governance has been placed to make the patient experience the best and safest and to improve on the way treatments are carried out on patients, I have also learnt on how the orthodontics’ career has changed over the years. I have also learnt in depth how braces work and how it can help move the tooths position to make teeth’s looking straight.
