Ben Burton-Payne

I am an independent and resilient person, who was born wheelchair bound, so I always push myself and try my hardest to show I can break the mold and stretch myself to my limits

I have had 3 Work Experiences, 2 which were customer based and one in an IT Office 

My latest one was at CTRL Pad, a rental arcade that I did work at for a month. I did customer service for young children and adults in parties and normal book ins, making drinks, hooking up consoles and talking to customers about games and assisting with game knowledge. I learned patience with younger customers, and how to work a till with credit/cash payments 

My one before that was an IT Office called M247 in Manchester, which supplied cloud based internet to offices around the UK. I learned customer service over landline, as well as software development with overtime, marketing, HR and tech support jobs. These all taught me interaction with colleagues and how to work in a huge office related to tech, that helped boost my technical skills

My first work experience was at a pub in Washington when I was really young during lockdown, counting stock and watching kitchen staff prep meals. This helped me with time preparation and customer satisfaction, making sure customers are happy and being able to do a job in a fast enough pace.

I am currently doing a diploma in creative media for games development.

My first year has taught me animation, blueprint code and 3D modelling. With these skills plus interaction with my peers. I've been able to improve my communication and teamwork skills, as well as improve my creative thinking.

This helped me win a competition for ‘Best Idea’ in a Halloween themed game jam, where I had to make a Halloween themed video game.
