As I worked in the wine industry, I have a strong understanding of the importance of simple but effective processes whilst maintaining strict quality control standards in a high-pressure environment. Strong team communication is key to ensuring safety and quality. In the testing world, this translate to following the process in place to avoid confusion and minimizing down-time. Effective communication allows a quicker resolution time and as a result a better quality. Emergencies do happen in software development as they do in winemaking - it is all about how we handle it as a team.

As for testing, I always weigh the technical difficulties versus the end user added value. MSc Geosciences - Geology of Exploration and Reservoirs

After my bachelor in earth sciences, I did my MSc specialized in Reservoirs, aiming for either Oil & Gas, Mining or Hydrogeology domains. The courses consisted in field trips where a strong analysis at all scales - from the grain size to the landscape - is required in order to understand the past and link it to the present : could this be a reservoir or was it a reservoir ? 
During my MSc, I did two work placements for Schlumberger. First studying the logs from the well data in order to asses the rock types and the structural. The second one was using the seismic data, a much bigger scale with less precision. To assess a reservoir, both data type is important. During the MSc and the work placement, I learnt a lot about team work, analysis, problem solving etc…
