Cairenn Murphy

Hello.

Let me introduce myself!

My name is Cairenn Murphy and having spent five years studying Graphic Design and Art Direction and recently graduating in 2022 with a first class honours in Bachelor of Design, I have developed a portfolio based on my experiences attached to this application. 

Aged 16 I found myself looking for work expierence within the art and design field. Attending a heavily focused STEM based school, I also found the opportunties for growth in these creative fields were not always encouraged or accessible. It was from this I ended up travelling over to Manchester where I worked with Venture arts, an art based charity that works with children with learning difficulties. Having this expierence at such a young age is one that I now look back on and believe set the tone for the type of work I as a designer wanted to be in. 

Throughout my time at University, having a year experience in the industry alongside five years experience with freelance, I have developed an extensive knowledge of Adobe suite and integrated design skills. Working as a Product specialist at Apple also allowed me develop customer focus skills, design skills in the learning and adaption of new digital software such as Procreate and how this platform can coexist alongside Adobe. 

I’m aware this can all sound very professional so now that’s out of the way let me tell you where I am at currently! Since graduating in July 2022, I took some time for myself away from education and travelled around South East Asia before returning home shortly before Christmas. Now having returned home with a fresh insight into the way I wish to work and the environment I believe I thrive in, and now with it beginning a new year I hope that is with you. I have been looking at different Desinger positions and I am currently based in Belfast.
