About Caitlin Hooper:
In my current role as Principle CAMHS therapy lead/Counselling and Clinical Psychologist, I successfully developed and launched key services such a CAMHS triage service for providers such as BUPA and Healix, and an ADHD parenting skills group to support parents in managing challenging behaviours. My expertise also extends to developing and implementing an ASC assessment pathway, completing training in ADOS and ADI-R, and actively participating in assessments, multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and final diagnoses for adults.
My clinical practice is informed by solid theoretical and practical foundations in CBT, DBT, ACT, and behavioural therapy and I have facilitated both inpatient and outpatient therapy groups for clients with diverse and complex presentations, ranging from low to high risk. These include running adult DBT groups and one-to-one sessions, as well as providing psychological assessments and treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and parents across diverse age, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
As a Safeguarding Lead, I have effectively managed both CAMHS and adult referrals and supported clinicians in navigating safeguarding processes. I have been actively involved in acute and ongoing risk assessment and coordination with emergency services and CAMHS teams for both my own and team member’s clients.
Additionally, I have demonstrated strong team building and organisational skills. I facilitated weekly professional development workshops, conducted peer supervision for therapists individually and in groups. I led a team of up to 10 members, ensuring high levels of support for both staff and their clients while maintaining my own caseload.
My commitment to evidence-based practice, collaborative team environments, and client-centred care has been a driving force in my career and was recognised by Priory by being nominated for the Rising Star Award for my hospital. I am eager to bring this dedication to my next place of work, contributing to
the growth and success of your team while continuing to make a positive impact on client outcomes.
