Spectrum Events- Security June 2017- December 2017
As a steward I was entrusted with the safety of the public and to work with my team to provide the services required. I had to be vigilant at all times in this role working at concerts, football and rugby matches. This role gave me a large amount of responsibility to organise the public in a safe manner while also remaining aware of my surroundings to spot any sign of danger.
Dropkick Murphy’s Bar (Edinburgh) July 2017 – September 2017
This role was my first experience of working the Edinburgh fringe festival which meant long hours and organisational pressures. As this is an intense period of work my colleagues and I had to be well organised to deal with the large flow of customers, this taught me how important it was to work effectively as part of a team.
Viewing agent for Wilson Ward Solicitors June – July 2020
Due to the pandemic closing the hospitality industry I was eager to adapt and try something new, in this temporary role I was entrusted with showing members of the public different properties around Edinburgh. For this I had to become knowledgeable about the flat and the area that I was showing, this is so I could confidently answer any questions the clients asked. For this role I was the face of the firm so presented myself as such, it taught me how important being professional and well prepared when meeting a client for the first time.
Duty Manager and Head Cellar Assistant at The Pear Tree May 2018 – December 2021
In this role I’ve had to learn how to adapt to the changing climate in line with the governments restrictions on the hospitality industry. Leading a team gave me a lot of responsibility, improving my leadership skills and handling any queries the public may have. I’m also responsible for all the deliveries, dealing with the invoices and doing regular stock counts.
Audit Assistant at RSM UK January 2022 – Present
In my current position I work with excel daily as part of a team to complete audit work for a large variety of clients. This role has taught me about the importance of taking responsibility of your own work and being organised while working on multiple jobs at a time.
