About Cameron Smith:
I have just completed the third and final year of university and am awaiting my final grade. I have worked during both holidays and term-time in a restaurant and a bar and have extensive experience of how demanding this can be. I have also worked in a warehouse and an office. In all cases I have shown myself to be punctual, reliable, hard-working and a team player who gets on with well with other people. I am currently looking for full time work.
Experience
Waiter (China Brasserie)
- Work included taking orders in the restaurant and over the phone as well as serving food and drinks.
- Also meant having to deal with customers who were sometimes difficult but the situation had to be handled politely and any situation diffused. I also learnt when it was appropriate to escalate a difficult situation to the manager or owner and when to handle it myself.
- Over time I had to manage the junior waiters and make sure they were responding to diners' requests in a timely manner
- I also improved my time management skills whilst working here and I gained basic knowledge of drink services such as tea/coffee and effectively pouring alcoholic drinks.
- I have learnt that keeping the customers happy and being attentive to ensure they could order food and drink and improve the business's takings.
Warehouse Packer (Safeguard)
- Work included packaging and labelling goods for dispatch in a team.
- This was repetitive warehouse work. I worked well within the team and always arrived on time. I was rewarded with a bonus at the end of my short time working there which reflected that I had been reliable.
Bar Staff (The Brass Pig)
- Work included taking orders, pouring drinks and speaking to customers in a busy bar. I learnt how to make various cocktails and other drinks quickly and efficiently.
Office Work (WT Lamb Holdings Ltd)
- Repetitive photocopying work and you worked well with the team and always arrived punctually.
