Carl Khombe is an award-winning multimedia concept designer, art director and innovative creative consultant with over a decade of experience in strategically conceptualising user-centric out-of-the-box ideas with artistic vision and systematically executing striking design projects. Carl’s expertise spans from developing captivating branding concepts through visual storytelling and delivering high-quality artefacts using and not limited to; animation, motion, print and web design across a variety of sectors such as professional services, advertising and IT consulting. • Leading the design and delivery of complex creative design solutions for clients using a systematic user-centric and expert-facilitated framework to prioritise user needs, elicit and define client requirements, create user journeys, deliver motion, print and web artefacts and implement action plans

Business Development Director and Creative Consultant, First Hour Enterprises (Mar 2023 – Present)

First Hour Enterprises is a family-run sanitation and waste disposal company that provides services to organisations supplying high-hygiene solutions, such as sanitary bins and servicing, waste bins, hand soap, air fresheners, tissue dispensers and hand dryers.

• Responsible for creating and executing the organisation’s rebrand including developing a new brand artefact system (logo, typography, expressions) and rolling it out both internally and externally
• Identifying business opportunities, supporting commercial discussions, and contract negotiations and developing strategic partnerships
• Conducting face-to-face client satisfaction surveys with senior stakeholders to review the services and expertise provided to clients 
• Analysing client feedback and developing and managing action plans as part of a continuous improvement process.
• Supporting employees with grievance issues working with their managers and the human resources team for a resolution
• Mentoring staff members at various levels for career progression and empowering them for promotion readiness 

Creative and Art Director, Shift Engage, (Jun 2016 – Mar 2023)

Shift Engage is a boutique creative advertising agency specialising in integrated online and offline media for advertising, direct marketing, and digital and retail sectors.

• Authored superior graphic design, web design, motion graphics, print production, adverts, and marketing collateral.
• Led and closely worked collaboratively with business, technical and creative teams to develop creative and effective advertising concepts, from ideation through final projects on time and on budget
• Supervised and directly contributed to projects to create print and digital media, videos, animations, and images for written online content.
• Created user journeys and user personas for complex adverts and creative marketing campaigns.
