I'm a 22 year old English graduate from King's College London. I am looking for full-time temporary work up until late September, when I will start a Master's degree.

Broadcast Journalist (February 2023)

Work placement in the LBC Newsroom at Global’s headquarters. 

Responsibilities: 

VOX, interviewing the public, recording audio and editing the clips for live broadcast on Classic FM; bulletin recording; shadowing the travel, bulletin, and producing teams; working in the LBC gallery on Shelagh Fogarty’s show; planning shows and shadowing Live On Air; sourcing high- profile guests for LBC News. 

The Strand Magazine (December 2022-2024)

Performing Arts Writer for The Strand Magazine.

Responsibilities:

Covering theatre and film in written articles, researching and reviewing performances, copyediting prior to publication.

Roar News (October 2022-2024) 

Writing and editing articles for Roar News, the newspaper of King’s College London, as role of Staff Writer. 

Responsibilities: 

Writing relevant articles in a journalistic style, tight deadlines, pitching ideas and executing them, collaborating with editors, investigating issues closely affecting KCL in order to amplify the voice of the student body. 

Author (January 2019—current) 

Writing and publishing short fiction and poetry, including my debut collection ‘the falling, the becoming’ and my upcoming sequel.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualising, crafting, formatting layout, and marketing of my book. Careful construction of my imagination in order to make it sellable. The promotion, selling and marketing of my work as an independent author. Communication and dealings with overseas presses and journals.

Freelance Writer and Copywriter (January 2019—current) 

1. Freelancing as a political journalist and engaging with events as they happen; live commentating on socials, for example Twitter and LinkedIn.

Responsibilities:

Keeping up with current affairs and considering how to ‘revolutionise’ the way politics is received in the modern media.

2. Writing paid articles and content for international companies, most notably across China and the United States.

Responsibilities:

Working within extremely tight deadlines to meet the companies’ needs and researching any topic required, whether I have prior knowledge on it or not. Includes copyediting, SEA content and language translations.

Owner of Charli’s Angels (October 2021—current) 

Founder and operator of my small business, hand-making and selling bespoke crystal jewellery. 

Responsibilities:
Crafting, marketing, managing finances and running my business independently; perfecting my use of social media in order to support content engagement and sales. 

InvestIn Law Internship (August 2020) 

A summer internship supported by lawyers and legal advisers.

Responsibilities:

Debating, mooting, perfecting interrogation and investigative techniques, becoming familiar with contract, criminal and media law, improving interactions with the interviewee. 

Editorial Reader for 805Lit, Florida (Spring 2019) 

Editorial reading, copyediting and proofreading for a literary journal based in Florida. 

Responsibilities:

Reviewing, editing and evaluating submissions from international writers within the managerial team of the publication.
