Cody Smith

Currently looking to join a company to continue on with my apprenticeship and work within a passionate team, continuing to develop my skill set.

I secured a job with a local joinery company in June 2022 that has allowed me to gain experience in the trade and I am eager to learn more to advance my skills further. Over the past two years I have been able to pride myself on my time keeping, reliability and ability to be a team player. Gaining hands on experience and being able to secure a joinery apprenticeship has been a great achievement. Having my own tools and still investing in them over the years this has allowed me to learn and practice the following - 

• Laminate flooring
• Plaster board
• Partitions
• Internal and external doors
• Fences
• Windows
• Kitchens
• Bathrooms
• Facings and skirtings

In September 2023 I started my first year of my apprenticeship at Fife College. Now with 2 years work experience, being hands on in many different aspects of joinery and building up my own tooling, I feel I have shown my dedication, commitment and great work ethic. I have learned and completed a variety of different things one being kit panels. I learned how to build a normal partition and a load bearing partition which I later sheeted. I have also built and completed a door from scratch which I will later hang and complete. We have also done a variety of different woodworking joints throughout my first year. Currently we are putting standards in for our door we made and fitting and finishing a window.
