About Crina Nechita:

I am a dedicated and meticulous Primary PPA Cover Teacher/Higher Level Teaching Assistant who owns a UK QTS since 2009, comprising a vast eleven years experience in teaching, which also embeds an experience of teaching primary school children and adults English as an additional language. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a love for the subjects that I teach, nurturing the holistic development on each child and building strong bonds with them. Since every child is unique, I am committed to tailoring my teaching methods to meet their individual needs. Through differentiated instruction, innovative teaching strategies and a welcoming, inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere, I strive by all means to empower, support and help my students to reach their full potential. I take pride in creating a safe and nurturing space where children feel valued, confident and willing to express their ideas.

Experience

CAREER HISTORY

September 2018 – To present – PPA Cover Teacher and Higher Level Teaching Assistant at William Byrd Primary School in Harlington, London

Key responsibilities and achievements

*Cover various classes (Writing, Phonics, Maths, Geography, History, Science, Religious Education, Play Projects, P.E) (from Nursery to Year 6) following an established timetable that can also change on a short-term notice, sometimes even 10 minutes before the lessons commence, being flexible at all times.

*Prepare the content of teaching and resources for the lessons that need to be taught, specific and tailored to each year group.

*Create a fruitful and stimulating learning environment for children to make them enjoy my classes. Amongst many strategies, learning through singing is definitely one of the best that I possess.

*Use dynamic and creative teaching methods to ensure pupils remain on task, using a variety of teaching resources, such as: flashcards, interactive whiteboards, online educational videos, real objects, embedding role play in my lessons to bring subjects to life, printing photos and word banks related to lessons and using colourful semantics worksheets to help EAL children. Differentiated worksheets are being used to care for each and every need that every child has.

*Develop lesson plans in line with the curriculum objectives and expectations and in preparation for assessments.

*Work closely with parents and carers, providing constructive feedback and discussing their child’s needs in order to incorporate them in the classroom environment.

*Monitor instances of negative pupil behaviour such as disruption and disengagement and work closely with parents and carers to solve these issues swiftly.

*Between September 2022 and July 2023, I was a Year 4 class teacher with responsibilities such as planning Maths and Writing, as well as creating Powerpoints to go with the planning.

*Between October 2021 and July 2022, I carried out interventions every afternoon in order to help EAL refugee children from Iraq, Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Syria, Eritrea and El Salvador (South America) and also EAL children from other backgrounds to learn English. I have also taught English to their parents for two hours, every Wednesday morning, at William Byrd Primary Academy, in order to help them speak English and integrate in the English society.

*Further my own learning and professional development, as well as communicating effectively with other teachers and educational organizations.

*Undertake administrative tasks on my own, such as: printing and photocopying resources for lessons, setting up IT equipment, keeping and filing records.

*At the heart of my teaching are the core values that the academy shares. These are the Five Guiding Powers: Being kind and respectful, Being Resilient and learning from mistakes, Being curious and ready to learn, Cooperating and learning together as a team and Aspiring to be the best we can be.

*Encourage children to try their best and reward them with stickers and prizes. I usually teach five or six classes a day, therefore I get to know most of the children in school and I pick a boy and a girl for my prizes each time.

*Created two folders that contain letters and pictures that children wrote for me throughout my whole teaching career (and still adding them to my collection).
