About Danai Daravigka:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of Early Years Practitioner.

I am a dedicated and qualified early childhood teacher with a passion for children’s learning and care, and experience working in preschool environments with children aged six weeks to six  years old.

I have recently relocated from Melbourne Australia to Lisburn, Northern Ireland. When I finished with my studies in Greece, I decided I wanted to experience something different and decided to move temporary in Melbourne. After five years of personal growth and development, I decided that is time to move back home and more specifically to my partners home country, Northern Ireland.

In my current position; I am responsible for creating and observing experiences for children reflecting the Reggio Emilia curriculum. I have developed strong skills in working with my students to create child-initiated activities and materials, and developing solid rapport with children, families and staff. I have also learned the importance of individual portfolios reflecting the growth of the child. In addition to being a very organised teacher, I am creative and enthusiastic, and sensitive to children’s individual needs. I possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as solid computer skills.

I am fully qualified, with a MEd in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs from Queens Belfast University and a four year Bachelors Degree of Education (Pre school Education) from the University of Crete, Greece. I also hold a current first aid and CPR certificate.

My philosophy of Early Childhood Education is that I believe that every child no matter their background, religion, upbringings or current living situation can learn and be successful. I believe that children learn through creativity and by being exposed to a warm loving and inviting environment. I feel that it is the teacher’s responsibility to make sure that every child regardless of their learning ability understands the depth and importance of the lesson being taught. Teachers should understand that every child learn in many different ways and they should make sure that they have a plan in place to accomplish the goal of making sure that every child learns successfully.

I believe that I would be a valuable addition to your centre, a place where I can continue to help kids learn in a fun, creative and safe environment, and contribute to their growth and wellbeing.
