Experience
PRESCOTT GROUNDSWORK
2020- CURRENT EMPLOYMENT
My work at Prescott Groundwork started in 2020 I am a CIS [Construction Industry Scheme] self-employed groundworker and have been able to develop several key skills during my time spent with this company.
The role despite being within the construction industry is a front facing role in which I often interact with customers who have purchased properties that we are currently or have already completed work upon. By doing so I am expected to resolve any quires they may have or make any rectifications to work they are dissatisfied with. At times the work may have been completed by other agencies, therefore, I liaise between the client and such agencies in order to resolve this if necessary.
My role consists of all aspects of groundwork as well as heavy lifting, drainage and customer satisfaction.
In addition to this I work with an everchanging team of other individuals on allocated construction sites and ensure that I document all work completed by myself and others in order to update the owner of this company. This ensures that the team are aware of what is expected of them, and our employer is aware of what and who has completed set tasks.
CHORLEY CONCRETE
2015-2020
My work at Chorley Concrete started in 2017 and ended in 2020 I was a general laborer and was able to develop several key skills during my time spent with this company.
The role enabled me to interact with customers who had ordered and purchased product being concrete from the company, along with other laborers and a driver I would attend each site and complete any tasks required. By doing so I could be expected to complete, heavy lifting, using wheelbarrows to move concrete where small access created barriers for the wagons and all concrete pouring and smoothing/setting duties.
I was, along with other staff members expected to resolve any quires that customers may have or make any rectifications to work they are dissatisfied with after communicating this will my employer. I feel this not only demonstrated my ability to complete manually straining and demanding work but also my problem skills.
A1 SKIPS
2012-2013
My work at A1 Skips started in 2012 and ended in 2013 due to the organisation changing hands.
My role at A1 skips was a Yard Operator I was, along with other staff members expected to sort through skips into designated recycling bays and operated and worked on trommel and conveyor belts.
SELF-EMPLOYED LABORER
2010-2012
This role involved preforming general laboring duties for builders including but not limited to, demolishing walls. Transporting materials across sites, filling and sorting skips and following health and safety regulations by keeping sites clean and tidy.
HOMESCAPES
2010-2011
My work at A1 Homescapes started in 2010 and ended in 2011 due to the work being seasonal and unreliable regarding hours available.
The role enabled me to develop skills within the landscape gardening field and acquire skills that I could take forward into other roles within the construction industry. On a day to day basis I would attend sites or address as directed and complete tasks such as but not limited to turfing, making and handling motor mix and block paving.
Whilst working at Homescapes I often worked as part of a team to complete allocated work for customers and or organisations gardens and or outdoor spaces.
Education
WIGAN & LEIGH COLLAGE
Brickwork Diploma Level 2- Completed 2010.
ST MICHAELS HIGHSCHOOL
I received a good standard of secondary education and achieved GCSEs in 6 subjects including Math’s and English.
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE
