About Daniel Forrest:
Why would you like this apprenticeship? What makes you a good candidate?: From the earliest memories of my childhood; my extensive travels during my formative years served as a catalyst for my procured drive for aircraft, and the thrill of flying has always been a constant in my life. My fascination with these captivating machines has evolved into a profound passion on wanting to work on aircraft.
With each new country I have visited has brought me new experiences with different aircraft, from minute passenger planes(DHC-6 Twin Otter) to the largest passenger aircraft(Airbus A380). I've become fascinated not only with their physical presence they bring to the skies but with the intricate science and engineering that made them fly. I was eager to understand the mechanics behind their graceful movements and their ability to connect people and cultures across vast distances.
During my Higher level of education I was able to immerse myself in studying physics and math, my edging curiosity led me to explore the laws and principles that make up the foundations to engineering. Over the years studying physics as well as mathematics has only enriched my understanding of the fundamental principles of physics but has also improved my analytical and problem skills, as it has given me the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Driving my passion and drive to work on aircraft.
Having participated in many different extracurricular activities, such as becoming a qualified lifeguard, representing my schools as swim captain for my previous schools as well as aircraft simulation at Accent Aviation. I have been able to develop multiple skills showcasing my desire for self improvement. Being a lifeguard as well as being a swim captain also allowed me to develop my leadership skills and the ability to motivate and work together during team events. A skill invaluable as when groups of engineers come together to work on challenging projects.
I am determined to explore the world aircraft maintenance, working on small aircraft as the Cessna 150, to hopefully working my way towards the A380. I believe by combining my admiration for travel and aircraft, I can make meaningful contributions to the industry. I'm committed to pushing the boundaries of aviation technology to create safe environment for all air travellers. Being accepted into this apprenticeship, would help me achieve these goals.
Experience
I am a qualified Lifeguard, through this qualification it has gave me multiple skills which prove to be invaluable when it come to working as a team member.
Education
I am in my sixth year of education in the Scottish curriculum, achieving multiple Highers and National 5's.
