My name is Dan, I am 24, and I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in a Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Nottinghamshire.

I am honest, hard working, and punctual. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills, honed through customer facing roles in hospitality, patient-facing roles in mental health services, and Teaching Assistant roles in education.

Northern Healthcare Mental Health Support Worker (01/2022 – 06/2022) 

• As a Mental Health Support Worker at Northern Healthcare, I was a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the everyday running of a 24/7 supported living service for people living with a mental health diagnosis. I served as a key member of service users’ support networks, liaising with families and health and social care professionals and supported with medication compliance. 

Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (SWYT NHS FT) (10/2022 – 02/2023) 

• As a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner at Kirklees and Calderdale IAPT service, an NHS talking therapies service that offers short-term psychological interventions to people with common mental health problems, my role was to carry out suitability assessments with newly referred patients and to deliver brief CBT-based guided self-help psychological interventions.

• As Teaching Assistant at Broomfield SILC School, an all-age generic special school catering for young people with a range of learning needs, my role was to reinforce lessons with students one-to-one or in small groups and raise overall engagement. 

Occupational Therapy Assistant (NUH NHS Trust) (07/2023 – 01/2024) 

• As an Occupational Therapy Assistant within the ‘Health Care of the Older Person’ team at an acute hospital in Nottingham, I was responsible for gathering information about patient’s home circumstances, completing specific functional assessments, ordering equipment, and providing rehabilitation and planning discharges.
