Experience

St Joseph’s College – Facilities Manager – June 2024 – Present

I am currently the Facilities Manager for St Joseph’s college which is a 65 acre site holding 19 buildings. The purpose of my role is to ensure the effective running and efficient management of Health & Safety, maintenance, grounds, estates, facilities, caretaking, security and housekeeping.

Some of the main responsibilities of my post include:

·       Developing and maintaining both reactive and planned maintenance programmes

·       Project management as required ensuring the professional procurement and delivery of major and minor capital projects

·       Responsibility for ensuring statutory and legal compliance across the campus within the scope of The Building Regulations 2010, including but not limited to CIBSE, HSE and other industry guidelines

·       Working closely with the Director of Finance to build robust maintenance and capex budgets

·       To deploy, lead, manage and supervise Caretaking, maintenance and Housekeeping teams

·       Efficient procurement, tendering and appointment of professional consultants, advisors, contractors and suppliers

·       Effectively manage the College’s energy resources and utilities

·       To act as the lead for Health & Safety, identifying and managing all H&S matters relating to the college

·       Lead practitioner and support with delivery of staff training for Fire safety, Lockdown procedures and Risk Assessments

·       Maintain effective records, reporting and oversight of accidents and incidents

·       Act as the Fire officer for the college

·       Chair of the College Health & Safety committee

Tendring District Council – (Assistant Manager – Group Operations) Sept 2023 – April 2024

I was the Group Operations Manager for the Tendring District Council covering Clacton Leisure Centre, Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles and Walton on The Naze Lifestyles. My role was split into two sections, firstly supporting the Centre Managers and secondly managing all operations for Clacton Leisure Centre alongside managing any operational implementations across all estates. I managed all H&S aspects of Clacton Leisure Centre and was appointed the Health and Safety Representative for Leisure.

Some of the responsibilities of current role were as follows:

·       Designing and implementing quality systems alongside Health and Safety procedures.

·       Providing effective management and leadership on all operational matters.

·       Overseeing all Health and Safety for Clacton Leisure Centre, ensuring that statutory requirements and best practise guidance were applied and were kept up to date.

·       Assisting with Health and Safety group agendas such as procurements of operational service contracts and condition surveys.

·       Production and maintenance of all appropriate Health and Safety documentation alongside staff training and induction.

·       Oversee legislative training to ensure it is current and meets statutory requirements.

·       Maintaining budgetary control.

·       Rota management.

·       Recruitment.

·       Continuous monitoring and reviews of standards achieved including audits and other mechanisms.

·       Developing and maintaining effective relationships within the organisation alongside key stakeholders.


Everlast Fitness Clubs – (Assistant General Manager) April 2021 – August 2023

At Everlast I was the Assistant General Manager in a busy gym environment, this role included being responsible for supporting the general manager in all aspects of the business both commercially and operationally. I was the line manager for our Member Experience Manager and Fitness Manager alongside the team of cleaners and Front of House. The majority of my role was running the day-to-day operations for the business including stock management and health and safety policies and procedures.  

Some of the responsibilities of my role were as follows:

·       Taking ownership of all targets and KPI’s in the General Managers absence.

·       Positively influencing all revenue streams and controlling costs.

·       Assisting and managing the company rota.

·       Managing all COSHH and Risk Assessments for the club, ensuring they are completed within recommended guidelines.

·       Full ownership of the effective management of the pool/plant operations.

·       Managing customer complaints.

·       Effectively managing all H&S policies and procedures.

·       Assisting in the recruitment of new staff alongside ensuring the correct induction process is followed for new staff or role changes.

·       Frequently communicating with other branch managers to ensure the business is on track.

 

Everlast Fitness Clubs – (Front of House/Duty Manager) August 2019 – April 2021

·       As a Receptionist for Everlast I have been the first port of call for members entering our club. This has required me to gain a great knowledge of all aspects of our business so that I can handle all queries that our members/prospects may have.

·       For a large portion of my time at Everlast I have been doing Duty Management shifts. This has included handling all day to day operations of our club, supporting staff and our members and helping to create an excellent workplace environment. Other aspects of my role have been providing tours and sales pitches for prospects, managing queries and complaints, performing and assisting first aid and creating a guarantee that our business is as clean and professional as it possibly can be before and especially during COVID-19.

 

Whitehall Resources – (Specialist 360 SAP Recruitment Consultant) March 2018 – March 2019 (MENA/UK regions)

·       For the first 8 months as a specialist 360 SAP Recruitment Consultant I focussed on contract in the MENA market with a main concentration on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait and Qatar. My role included interacting with large clients such as Saudi Aramco, Siemens and Atos.

·       In December 2018 I moved to the UK division focussing on the IT Permanent market covering both Development and Infrastructure verticals. This role entailed resourcing roles alongside speaking with large companies throughout the UK in order to build strong working relationships.

 

Spicerhaart (Portfolio Property Manager) –April 2017 – November 2017

·       Upon returning to Spicerhaart I moved onto portfolio management which comprised of the sole management for all properties in Dulwich and Battersea. This meant that I was the first port of call for all tenants, landlords and guarantors for all aspects of the property.

Travelling –January 2017– April 2017

·       I left work to travel for 9 weeks and visited Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Australia and New Zealand.

Spicerhaart (Property Manager) –June 2015 – January 2017

Working at Spicerhaart I was a Property Manager, this included handling the maintenance, arrears, tenancy agreement extensions and deposit negotiations within a team to cover the north of England and Wales.

Tiptree jams internship– 2014 (summer holiday)

·       This included working within the factory on the different sites along with managing risk assessments and the creation of visual representations of machinery for easier use.

 

Wedding/party DJ – 2012 – 2015

 

·       Providing the music and lighting for parties along with supporting tribute acts at Colchester United football stadium.
