I know how to engage with my students and motivate and inspire them to develop a love for the subject and for knowledge more generally. I consider the IB learning profiles not just to be about incorporating these concepts into daily lessons but for the teacher themselves to imbue these attributes as personality traits and to reflect them back to the students. Our role is to develop students to be considerate, caring and knowledgeable and tolerant of global cultures and to enable them to use valuable critical thinking skills to evaluate and navigate the world in which they live. This is even more fundamental in the internet age where the dissemination and differentiation of valid sources and misinformation is more and more crucial. Even more fundamentally, our roles as teachers is to create a collaborative classroom environment where students feel respected and encouraged to work with others and to grow as individuals where their input is valued.  I am also aware of the excellent reputation of Gems Education schools and I know that at the Dubai school specifically I will develop as a teacher and find the working environment extremely rewarding and fulfilling with the school's commitment in inspiring a love of learning in all of their students.
