Declan Gale

In the early stages of my film career, I'm currently a Junior Video Producer, having gained practical experience and a strong foundation in film production from the BRIT School. Outside work, I make my own short films, telling fun and subversive stories. 

I've worked as a freelance Production Assistant, which has taught me a lot about the realities of being on set. Eager to grow and apply my skills, I’m always open to new learning experiences. Holding work authorisation for New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, I’m keen to contribute creatively and collaboratively in these environments.

I began my professional journey in the film industry as a Runner and Production Assistant from July 2021 to June 2023. During this time, I worked on a variety of projects, including music videos and TV pilots. My role involved supporting production teams by setting up equipment, managing props, and handling daily set turnarounds. I ensured that health and safety standards were consistently met on set, and I quickly learnt the importance of being proactive and taking the initiative.

In June 2023, I progressed to the position of Junior Video Producer at London Filmed. In this role, I have been responsible for filming and producing videos for events, editing footage using Premiere Pro, and performing sound mixing and colour grading. I coordinate with production teams to organise workflows and develop efficient processes, and I handle various pre-production tasks such as creating schedules, call sheets, and sourcing props and locations. My work here has allowed me to hone my skills in video production and project management.

My skills include advanced video editing with Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X, proficiency in VFX using After Effects, and a strong understanding of technical aspects such as camera operation, sound, and lighting. I am an effective communicator and team player, known for my ability to manage projects efficiently and work collaboratively under pressure.

I am a dedicated and aspiring production assistant and junior video producer, with a solid educational background from The BRIT School where I achieved a Distinction in both the UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology. My training covered a range of film and media production skills, from directing and editing to live broadcasting and VFX.

In addition to my formal education, I completed a short course in Production Management and Line Producing at the London Film School, which provided me with valuable insights into the intricacies of overseeing production workflows and managing film projects.

My passion lies in every aspect of film and media production, and I continuously strive to expand my knowledge and skills. I am enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and collaborating with creative teams to bring compelling stories to life.
