About Emily Angel:
I have recently been made redundant from my role as a Physicist at EFFECT Photonics due to a site closure. My 4 years with the company have been a great experience and I am now looking for my next new adventure. Below details what I did with the company since I graduated from the University of Exeter.
05/21-10/22 System Engineering of EFFECT’s Arena database. Implementing new features, including documentation categories, approval routings, system integrations and reports. Collating and providing evidence to support the company gaining the ISO 9001 Qualification Standard. Attended the ISO Inspection. Updating and maintaining the Arena database to ensure Telcordia product quality standard was kept with bi-annual changing standards. Providing management reports and data for monthly KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Optimisation of the user interface on the Arena system. Co-ordinating the addition of new users and providing training for these users.
02/21-05/22 Project Management of the migration of EFFECT’s PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Documentation from SOLIDWORKS PDM (Product Data Management) to Arena. Project planning with Arena to ensure roll out happened on a restricted timeline (estimated 9 months, delivered in 3 months). Designing and delivering an online training program globally. Co-ordinating with Arena to ensure correct user profiles, document categories, routings, and features were set up. Successful roll out, training, closedown of PDM and migration, all completed within 4 months.
01/20-02/21 System Engineering of EFFECT’s SOLIDWORKS PDM Database. Managing approval and file structure of CAD files within SOLIDWORKS PDM. Running bi-annual surveys for system optimisation requests. Interpreting the survey results to produce reports and presenting findings to management. Co-ordinating roll out of improvements accordingly. Managing the addition of new users and providing training for these users.
05/19-01/20 Migration of EFFECT’s PLM Documentation from Dropbox to SOLIDWORKS PDM. Identification of documentation to move to PDM, then set up of file structure and document flow though PDM. Set up of user profiles and company-wide training.
10/18-05/19 Materials research, testing and investigation for optimisation of use in SFP+ Packaging. Researching and testing carrier materials, epoxy choices and TEC (Themo Electric Cooler) compatibility with the PIC (Photonics Integrated Circuit). Experimental planning and presenting results. Providing data to support the presentation given at the COMSOL Conference in Cambridge 2019.
