Within my practice, as a 2D character designer, conceptual artist and visual storyteller, I employ fantasy design appeals embedded with narratives exploring hero fallacies and The Old Lie. My work, influenced by the memories of personalities, artists, poets and relatives from war narratives and imagery, which surrounded my upbringing and entertainment, now manifests in a personal narrative journey with my characters and art to understand who we are when everything goes wrong and how we may begin to reconstruct our empathy out of ashes.

Through visual narrative exploration, humanity and fantasy, my practice’s characters explore these themes, personifying my wish to reconnect with modest optimism for the future while thwarting humanity’s apathetic, stubborn relationship with war.

Experience

Working with a small team of other creatives as a student to deliver upon the needs of a pitch bible, I was tasked, while working remotely, to complete the layouts of stylised, UPA-inspired scenes and deliver them on time for animation tests.
