Policy launches: supported launch of a new ads policy for hemp, unlocking

>$100m in revenue for ingestible hemp and reducing business friction for existing non-ingestible hemp advertisers; advised Operations on development of operating protocols to protect user safety by ensuring high enforcement precision during human and automated review (metrics showed a 9% enforcement precision following launch, unblocking >$25M in additional revenue); advised Business Product Marketing on external comms and go-to-market strategy; supported Comms with escalations from external stakeholders.

Consumer safety reporting channels: managed two global notice-and-takedown channels with >200 consumer protection regulators onboarded, maintaining a 70%; provided legal assessments on >2,000 EMEA take-down requests; developed onboarding eligibility matrix to ensure consistency in decisions; regularly addressed concerns of onboarded regulators in respect of suspected unlawful content and enforcement queries; led efforts to proactively reduce scam ads, resulting in formal recognition of the strong collaboration from APAC regulators and awards for the business.

Advertising approval program: managed a global approval program and onboarding workflow for gambling advertisers, which ensured legal compliance across 233 territories and preserved >$3BN in sustainable revenue; led a significant overhaul of the workflow which reduced legal, regulatory and integrity risks, and improved turnaround time for applications by 81%; established a new process for adding/removing gaming types which mitigated legal risk, generated >$50m annual revenue and increased operational efficiency; developed offboarding protocol to minimise legal exposure in the event of adverse regulatory developments; drafted clickwrap agreement to further reduce potential legal liability.

Product launches: advised product teams on new product launches aimed at improving user safety and increasing transparency for advertisers, including development of an ad rejection tool which resulted in 8% reduction in policy- violating dating and gambling ads.

Regulatory engagements: led negotiations with Spanish regulator in respect of proposed gambling legislation, successfully overturning a full prohibition of gambling advertising across all media and protecting $15M in revenue; supported Public Policy in meetings with advertising regulators, preventing increased regulation by highlighting Meta's existing targeting and enforcement measures; advised internal stakeholders on the legal considerations and benefits of becoming a member of various self-regulatory organisations and drafted side letters to reduce risk; prepared colleagues for US Senate hearings in relation to advertising.
