Hello I am Emma, a bubbly 25 year old looking for part-time work in a café or cleaning role, I am enthusiastic and a team player and I take pride in my customer service skills and my attention to detail when it comes to health and hygiene. I currently work two days a month in a café, however I would like to expand my skills and knowledge in the cleaning sector and develop my career. After having some work experience at The Grand Hotel in Brighton with the kitchen and housekeeping staff I became interested in a career in housekeeping, making sure guests had the cleanest rooms to enjoy their stay, I particularly enjoyed making the beds look comfortable and learning the best way to change sheets quickly and efficiently. I am also a very tidy and clean person in general, I help my elderly grandparents every week by cleaning their house in the hard to reach places, making their bed and flipping their mattress. 

I am passionate about art and crafts, I love to colour and draw anime characters and I love to knit, paint, make candles and soap and explore other crafts. I also love to cook and enjoy serving customers in the café their coffee, teas and cake.

The Grand Hotel: Kitchen and Housekeeping Assistant: Placement, two months

During my time at The Grand Hotel I had work experience for housekeeping, I was trained in changing the bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers and we ran an exercise on what to spot in a room that didn't look right or need cleaning, an example on what I picked up on was that the mirror was dirty and had finger marks on it so that would need cleaning.

East Toast Café: Café Assistant: Three Years, on going

I work there two days a month as a Barista because I'm front of house using the Coffee Machine mostly, but if there is something that needs doing in the kitchen I will stop what I'm doing and go to the kitchen to wash up the things that need cleaning in the sink, I also make sure all equipment and surfaces are clean, including customer areas and toilets using the correct disinfectants and coloured J-cloths for cleaning, for example red for the toilets, blue for surfaces and green for washing up. I also do stock checks for the café, which requires good concentration and attention to detail so we know what needs to be brought for the café.

Bird N' Blend: Tea Preparation: Work Experience, Six weeks

I would weigh, organize and pack the different teas into their corresponding bags so they we're ready to be delivered to café's and shops. This required great concentration and attention to detail.

Gemini Print: Placement One a month: Placement Two a month

I would organize and pack different items such as business cards and leaflets into their corresponding boxes and holders so they we're ready to be delivered to peoples homes and local business's such as The Grand Hotel.

Buddy's Café: College Work Experience a month, Work Aid Six months

Similarly to East Toast, I worked there as a Barista and Kitchen assistant, I looked over the cleanliness and ensured everything was tidy and organized such as the food and drinks as well as restocking the ingredients, this is where I got my Heath and Hygiene Level Three Qualification.
