About Esther Littlewood:
I’m an MSc Nutrition and Behaviour graduate with a real passion for food, health, and helping people make positive lifestyle changes. My studies gave me the chance to explore how nutrition shapes wellbeing, from creating engaging infographics on type 2 diabetes and ultra-processed foods, to developing a grant proposal on the MIND diet and brain health. I also completed a hands-on placement with a local nutritionist, working on a community garden project to design resources about food growing, sustainability, and wellbeing, an experience that confirmed how much I enjoy translating evidence into accessible, practical tools.
Before studying nutrition, I worked as a children’s nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This gave me strong communication skills, confidence working with young people and families, and the ability to stay calm and organised in fast-paced environments.
I’m enthusiastic, approachable, and eager to start my career in nutrition and wellbeing, with a particular interest in supporting children and communities to build healthy, lasting relationships with food.
Experience
I am an MSc Nutrition and Behaviour graduate with professional experience in both healthcare and community settings. I began my career as a children’s nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where I developed excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt to different audiences, and experience supporting children and families with sensitivity and care. More recently, I worked in a team leadership role, gaining confidence in organisation, time management, and implementing new systems.
During my postgraduate studies, I have built specialist knowledge in nutrition and wellbeing, completing a dissertation on dietary intake and quality of life in Hashimoto’s disease, as well as projects focused on public health, behaviour change, and brain health. I also completed a placement with a local nutritionist, co-creating educational resources on food sustainability and wellbeing for a university community garden.
These experiences have strengthened my skills in research, report writing, and health communication, as well as my passion for helping others to make informed, positive lifestyle choices. I am now looking to apply this combination of skills and knowledge in a graduate nutritionist role.
