Evan Bradshaw
Engineering / Architecture
About Evan Bradshaw:
Hello I'm Evan and I live in Stourbridge I have previously worked in retail, bearing industry and rail industry as well. I worked at Tesco for around 2 years afterwards I went into the bearing industry with Race Transmissions which later became Dodge Industrial where I worked for a total of 2 ½ years where I went to GB Railfreight for the seasonal job doing the RHTT Season for 6 months.
Experience
Warehouse Operative
Responsibilities:
- Working within Race would normally be unloading deliveries of pallets and storing them in our storage unit containing our pallet storage racks. Picking deliveries throughout the day either boxing them up or packing in pallets all depending on the size of the order.
- I’m also involved with change overs this would consist of making up an bearing with multiple other bearings some as big as the palm of your hand others as big as the size of an off roading vehicle, if anyone was off work I’d cover there desk in the office booking in orders, planning change overs and booking on the TNT/DHL deliveries whom we ship our orders on.
- Keeping both units clean and in some sort of order is key with how much stock we are holding it’s down to me to keep all this checked and in order specially with stock checks being a regular thing for us.
RHTT Operative (Rail Head Treatment Train)
PTS Trained
Responsibilities:
- My responsibilities ranged from prepping the RHTT set for the days work ahead to doing my 360 checks to make sure everything was in order as well as operating the cattron to spray the railhead which we had to follow an ticksheet to show where was or wasn’t sprayed. All this is very important in leaf fall season to prevent any slips or major incidents which could cause serious injury or damage.
- It should also be my responsibility to contact GBRf control if we had any problems or faults to keep them up to date with any situations which came our way. We also have to be in regular contact of Network Rail control to keep them aware of any situations which they need to be made aware of. It’s very important to be an team player in this role but as well to think on your feet if anything goes wrong and be able to solve it.
