Evans Mangwende

Former orphanage coordinator and caregiver.

At Mangwende Orphan Care Trust in Zimbabwe, I served as Project Coordinator from 2014 to 2024, leading community-driven initiatives to support orphans and vulnerable children. I managed the Supplementary Feeding Program, secured resources through partnerships with NGOs and government bodies, and provided emotional support and counselling to abused children. I was responsible for organizing the provision of clothing, shelter, and education, while also developing nutritional plans tailored to individual health conditions. Through my efforts, I enhanced the welfare of vulnerable communities by addressing their immediate needs and supporting long-term development projects.

I obtained a diploma in marketing in 1997 and completed Permaculture Design Courses in 2018. Recently, I relocated to the UK, where I completed Care Work Mandatory Training and trained with Aster Care and the Red Cross Society, preparing to start volunteering this month to gain practical experience in patient support.
