About Felipe Aguirre:

I am a teacher and musician, specialist in composition and musical arrangements, graduated from Universidad del Desarrollo in 2019 and
Escuela Moderna de Música in 2010. Married, two daughters, teaching music in KS3 at Charters School in Sunningdale, UK.

Experience

Charters School | Sunningdale, UK
SEPT 2023 - CURRENT
• In this role I primarily teach KS3 (year 7, 8 and 9) in which I am in charge of 8 classes per
level.
• Each lesson I do a theory section and then we finish with practice time, where each one of
my students must continue working on their skill development with their instrument.
• Additionally, I am in charge of the junior orchestra, which must periodically present in
concert and assembly contexts. In this role I must generate the appropriate material for the
level of performance of each student, carry out the rehearsals and attend to the needs that
each member presents.
• This place has given me the opportunity to know and learn about the British education
system and everything related to safeguarding, SEND, work with parents and much more.

Santiago College | Lo Barnechea, RM-CL
MARCH 2020 - SEPT 2023
• In this job I have developed as a bilingual music teacher from KS1 to KS4. Santiago
College is one of the top five schools in Chile, being the first in Latin America to fully
implement the International Baccalaureate program. All my classes are in English.
• Within this program I have had the opportunity to train myself as a planning expert within the
transdisciplinary units of the PYP and planning within MYP.
• On the other hand, being the director of the Middle School choir, I have been able to
maintain and cultivate the choral and vocal tradition of the school, having successful
performances in assemblies, ceremonies and artistic presentations.
• After working for two years in this school, I was invited to be part of the middle school class teachers. In this position I have had the challenge of guiding and modeling a group of 27 children, considerably improving their behavior and academic performance, due to
through personalized work between students and parents.

The Mayflower School | Lo Barnechea, RM-CL

MARCH 2019 - MARCH 2020
• Having worked in this school was a great first experience as a bilingual teacher from KS1 to
KS2, receiving praise from my peers for the dynamics of my classes and the interaction with
the children.
• I created an activity to develop the pulse and rhythmic patterns for young children called
"Rhythmic Bugs", which has been shared among more teachers from different schools.
• While I was working as a music teacher, I had the opportunity to implement a music
education project within the framework of innovation promoted by the Universidad del
Desarrollo with Year 10 students, with successful results.

Santiago Evangelista School | La Reina, RM-CL
MARCH 2018 - MARCH 2020
• At this school I taught music in KS2 and KS3.
• I had a great experience working with students with different educational needs and
diversity of learning styles. Many of my students presented with diagnoses such as attention
deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and some with down syndrome. I was trained
in differential education putting each class into practice.
• Together with a group of 15 students we managed to produce a short film made in a
workshop on extracurricular activities that I offered for secondary students.

San Bartolomeo School | Calera de Tango, RM-CL
MARCH 2018 - MARCH 2019
• I taught music from KS2 and KS4.
• During the time that I worked in this school, I managed to contribute to the order of the
music curriculum of the school, assigning learning objectives by level related to
instrumental development.

Grace College | Huechuraba, RM-CL
MARCH 2017 - MARCH 2018
• I taught from KS2 to Sixth Form.
• In this job, being my first experience as a music teacher, and not yet having gone through my
formal education studies, I successfully developed lesson planning with a great deal of
creativity and a great sense of intuition. That allowed me to discover my skills as a teacher.
• In addition, I managed to stage singing festivals and musical competitions for all the
students in the school community. I got interesting prizes for the winners, such as singing

classes in music schools, recording a song in a professional recording studio and song
production to later be published on Spotify, developing an artist profile for the winning
student.
