MSc graduate with a broad range of work experience seeking a career in sustainability consulting. Through my postgraduate degree, previous employment and IEMA membership, I have developed an interest in carbon and net zero advisory that I wish to pursue.

Experience

Built It International, Shrewsbury. Data analyst                                                                                           July 2019

  • Experience in international development through undertaking data analysis of NGOs financial data to supplement annual reporting. Following my analysis, data contributed to future project budgeting. 
  • Assisted PM in reviewing project progress to ensure deliverables were achieved within budget.

Education

GeoSmart Information, Shrewsbury. Technical Consultant                                              January 2024 – present

  • A client-facing role offering environmental solutions to insurers, asset managers, private equity and real estate professionals. This included disclosures (e.g. TCFD/IFRS) and regulatory due diligence requirements.
  • Assisting proposal process through offering technical insight in prospecting meetings with potential clients. This enhanced my confidence in communicating with stakeholders.
  • Developed experience of climate risk, environmental policy and project management/finance. 

 

Ramboll UK, London. Carbon Consultant                                                                         September 2022 – January 2023 

  • Working across the ‘Climate and Sustainability’ team to provide tailored decarbonisation strategies to clients.
  • Developed an understanding of industrial decarbonisation and sustainable buildings.  
  • Developed key consulting skills, namely communication and time management. 

 

Jurassic Fibre Ltd, Exeter. Environmental Auditor                                                                           May – June 2021

  • Undertaking environmental impact and risk assessments at construction sites for new broadband lines. The smartphone app ‘iAuditor’ was used to collect audits and further analyse data.
  • Gained an overview of audits/impact assessments through a blend of technical and practical insights.

Energy Policy Group, Exeter. Research Assistant                                                                             June – July 2021

  • Assisting with PhD research regarding the impact of digital M&A's within Europe's energy market. This role offered a detailed insight into the restructuring of energy systems and their role in the drive to NetZero. 
  • Using the Bloomberg Database a research platform, I gained confidence in working with large datasets. Used numerous Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, to synthesise and analyse data. 

Green Consultant Programme, Exeter. Junior Consultant                                                                      2020 – 2021 

  • Award-winning programme for students hoping to pursue a career in the environment and sustainability sector. 
  • This programme took place alongside my degree so required organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet ongoing deadlines.
