Florence Stewart

I have just completed A levels in Maths, Physics and Geography and have been in the Army Cadets since just before I was 13. During my time there I have risen through the ranks to attain the rank of Sergeant. I have represented the cadets at many events including Drill Competitions, Remembrance and Poppy selling and have taken a number of courses including leadership and First Aid at work. I have had to lesson plan and teach the younger cadets the skills i have perfected and more recently I have completed a Btec in Personal Development and Leadership. I also have completed Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze level.

I was Deputy Head Girl at my Senior School and Head of House in my 6th Form. 

I am currently working at a Motor Spares Company assisting in the Admin and Finance Dept.

I plan to take a year out before deciding if I want to go to University during which time I want to use my skills to obtain work that I enjoy and to develop my skillset. 

Between my GCSEs and A Levels I also spent 2 weeks in the Summer doing the NCS ( National Citizens Service ) during which time we did fundraising and volunteering in the local community.

I enjoy keeping my mind active as well outdoor pursuits. I have to leave cadets at 18 and will really miss the camaraderie and team working as well as  stretching myself physically and mentally. 
It is without a doubt the best thing I have done to date and think all young people should join a cadet force .

To relax I like to bake and draw and go to the gym. 

I have a dog who I also spend a lot of time with and enjoy spending time with my family. 

As i have only just finished A levels and have spent weekends studying or at cadet activities my work experience is limited but I am currently working in an Admin and Finance Department.

My time at cadets has taught me leadership and team working skills, communication and perseverance and made me work outside my comfort zone. 

I am an excellent communicator at all levels, an excellent mathematician and would rather be out and about than in front of a television.
