Francesca Hunt

My name is Francesca Hunt, I am 22 years of age and live in Chester but am happy to commute for work. I studied psychology, biology and theology as A levels and then went on to complete 1 and a half years worth of training as a student nurse at The University of Chester undergoing placements in the hospital on the wards and in a doctors surgery gaining healthcare experience and administration experience. I am passionate about and am looking forward to going into employment in the healthcare sector. I also have good social media experience and building engagement and following.

I have completed a year and a half’s worth of training as a student nurse learning both theory and practical skills. I have really taken on what it feels like to be a nurse and realised just how amazing the work they do really is. I have completed multiple placements including at a Doctors surgery and at The Countess Of Chester Hospital on wards and in clinics. I have worked on the acute medical ward and the surgical ward where I gained knowledge of seeing a patients surgical journey, looking after them and observing them both pre op and post op. In the doctor’s surgery I gained knowledge of injections, diabetes appointments, wound management and bandaging. I have a passion for working with patients and feel this is such a rewarding job. Through shadowing nurses and taking lead myself I have gained skills such as taking observations (blood pressures and temperatures), aseptic technique, administering intramuscular injections, administering intramuscular injections, patient confidentially and privacy, updating patients records accurately, safeguarding of patients and being mindful of patients emotional needs also. I am knowledgable of the NMC code and how to practice safely and effectively individually and as a team. I have knowledge of the administration side having worked on the reception and also making sure patients records are always accurate and up to date. When working on the wards I undertook many of the healthcare assistant roles and helped wherever I could possible to make the patients journey easier and cut down patient waiting times. Working with patients is something I really enjoy, I am a kind natured girl who finds helping others extremely rewarding and would absolutely love to work in this sector.
