I am a confident, hardworking individual who enjoy’s being part of a team. I have many skills to offer including time management, communication and commitment to a role. I can be relied upon to complete tasks thoroughly and to a high standard. I am very comfortable working on my own and using my initiative to fulfill requirements. 

I am looking for a role within a company that can offer me the opportunity to develop a long term career within this industry as I have a particular interest in this area and enjoy working on the machines. I have already demonstrated a commitment to this area by achieving my Level 2 NVQ for 360 Tracked Excavators 10 tonnes and above. I am more than willing to work towards other qualifications and take on training for any role requirements.

I have worked on many sites and have my Green CSCS card (Health & Safety), so I am aware of the importance of this element of the role.  Over the last 2 years I have been operating 360 excavators to dig trenches, level off/grading the ground, dredging and spoil movement. These jobs have been using various sized excavators. I have been responsible for completing a thorough pre-work risk assessment check on the machine prior to operation. I have experience of operating numerous other plant equipment, including dumpers and am proficient with trailers.

I am a competent user of general digital platforms, including Office 365 and have used numerous software and applications. I have regularly used these solutions to complete tasks. 

I have a flexible attitude to work and am willing to work longer hours as required to achieve a target aswell as working in various locations as per the business requirement. 

Throughout the years I have played sport I have developed many skills including teamwork, team leadership and effective communication including motivating the team to improve. Leadership came with the responsibilities of setting an example to the rest of the team. An example of this was when I captained Selby R.U.F.C Senior Colts. When captaining the Colts side, we successfully won the Yorkshire plate, which I am very proud of.  I still represent Selby RUFC in their senior teams. I enjoy both the challenge of competitive sport aswell as the social aspect amongst varying different members of the sport community.

I was Operating a variety of 360 Tracked excavators including 8, 14, 23 tonne. During my time working here the tasks I had were muck shift and filling the dumper with clay, stone and top soil. Also I had to backfill the planters. the process of backfilling with the clay included bridging the material so the ground team could compact the it. Another key task I had was using my lifting operations to manoeuvre bits of machinery such as the Ramac to compact the clay.

Self Employed Excavator operator

Woburn Safari Park - SelbyApril 2025 to May 2025

During these 2 weeks I was required to excavate trenches for Clever Cow Organics using a 3 tonne machine. The trenches were going to be used for the new water system. I was instructed that it was going to be 1,500m at 2ft deep. While I was completing the excavation I had to sight in the water troughs for each paddock making sure they were level so no water would overflow.

Woburn Safari ParkJanuary 2025 to January 2025

In this period of working, I was operating a 9 tonne 360 excavator for the garden team at Woburn Abbey Bedford Estates. I had sole responsibility for it as the nominated individual licensed to use the vehicle on site. I was employed specifically to complete some key work for the team, reporting directly to the Head of Parks and Gardens. During the week my task list included:

• Dredge out a large pond due to the reeds being overgrown and reducing the water flow.
• Remove tree stumps using a digging bucket to dislodge the roots
• Muck shift a large pile of spoil to be ready to get sieved.

Due to the efficiency in which I completed my task list, and to the required high standard, I was then asked to complete some further work at one of the other sites.  I have since received very good feedback from the team.
