Gary Gibbons

My name is Mr Gary Gibbons and I am offering my services as an educator. I earned a Bachelor’s of Education with Honours degree with Science/Technology from the University of Wales (UK) in 1997, and received my UK teacher’s certification also in 1997. I have been Head Teacher/Principal/Director for more than 14 years.

I have taught and managed schools around the globe and have very extensive experience. Having recently spent three years as Principal in Kuwait, I  now work as an educational consultant with a consortium. I have prior approval by the Kuwait Ministry of Education as a Principal. I have extensive experience of the development of schools and the wider educational systems. I believe my expertise would be an asset to your school.

Throughout my educational career I have mastered the UK National Curriculum and the USA Common Core Curriculum. I have managed and led teams, whilst also being a team-player, and been Head Teacher for the British Embassy sponsored school in Yemen, five years served as Director of an American school (managed by International Schools Services, USA) in Congo for Schlumberger/Chevron/Total and also worked advising education companies and establishments. In my current role as Executive Consultant with Shoal Consulting I manage the workings of an academic consulting operations, lead meetings and handle budgetary issues. I am organized, detail oriented and have excellent time management. In addition I hold extensive supervisory experience and strong leadership skills. My academic and professional backgrounds have given me a host of knowledge regarding the fundamentals of higher education. I have been praised in the past for my diplomacy in handling stressful and delicate situations as well as for being able to take on multiple obligations with ease.

To summarize the value I can bring to schools, I have:

–       In excess of 14 years of experience in challenging leadership roles of academic programs, as well as being the on the Board of Directors, while acting as the academic/operational supervisor in a variety of locations.

–       Working closely with the British Embassy Ambassador/Deputy Ambassador/oil company executives in country during peacetime and civil war.

–       Experience in budget control of large organizations, as well as accurate reporting on an annual basis in liaison with the financial administrator.

–       Excellent teaching across all age groups and subjects.

–       Experience of maintaining academic quality and the instructional level of course materials. I also have experience of and an understanding of the need for pre-prepared course assignment materials for educators.

–       An adaptable and flexible nature attained through working in situations of a demanding, mission-critical nature where the overall success of the organization, as well as each individual, is the desired outcome.

The combination of experience and education skills is my passion. It is my goal to put these to good use for the benefit of students and as a contribution to the school.
