About George Stanbrook:

I am a final year BSc Geography student at the University of Northampton, of which I am predicted to graduate with first class honours. My studies have provided me with an exceptional understanding of everything from physical processes and environments, to the interpersonal interactions between an individual and the built environment. I also currently work part-time at Tesco (including during the COVID-19 pandemic), also a period as a relief checkout supervisor and have cash office experience.

Experience

Customer Assistant- Customer Service Desk. 
Have also completed other various roles, including Cash Office Assistant and Checkout Team Support.

- Knowledge and application of company operating procedures, ensuring that the store stays safe and legal. 
- Providing excellent service and efficiency to achieve KPI’s. Balancing customer and colleague demands to ensure the correct number of checkouts are open and staff receive their breaks on time. 
- Ensuring customers leave the store with their issue resolved and having had a good shopping experience. 
- Counting, reconciliation and management of cash to ensure all cash is received and credited against the correct checkouts, and provide solutions through till investigations, where cash may be missing or processed incorrectly. Coaching of colleagues around good cash handling practices to prevent till shorts/overs.

Education

Further development of human interactions within the natural and built environments.Advanced written communication skills through essay and report writing, within the bounds of rigid guidelines to hypothesise; assess, analyse and synthesise collected data into a conclusion. Proficient verbal communication skills through debates and presentations to large groups of people. Understanding of statistical principles to test the validities of hypothesises using parametric and non-parametric tests in Minitab, to examine large datasets to solve problems and draw conclusions within local, national or global spheres. Ability to use GIS software to create, conjoin and alter maps to highlight and present data for a given purpose.
