  • Find examples of existing environmental best practice & pockets of success across Macmillan, and where possible replicate those elsewhere​

                                                            Direct mail production executive (Brand & Marketing)

  • End to end production management for Direct Mail work from the National Marketing (Fundraising) team and any other teams requiring DM projects. From the estimation, postal approvals through to proof and approvals. Project manage the processes and the key stakeholders and their roles / responsibility
  • To project manage any other print and production responsibilities, and make sure work is carried out to schedule and in line with Macmillan process.
  • Managing a print and postage annual spend of £9 million+.
  • To manage the assigned client relationship providing a best in class account management service.
  • Work under the agreed Macmillan Procurement framework when costing projects and placing orders. Work with manager and procurement to understand and fully comply whilst achieving cost and process efficiencies, including quality control through all production practices.
  • To progress assigned projects from initial briefing/concept stage through all stages of production to final delivery/despatch liaising with the production suppliers, creative agencies and internal clients as appropriate. This includes standard print briefs, managing mailings and devising distribution plans.
  • Selection of appropriate for suppliers and matching of suppliers to jobs to ensure the best price and service to Macmillan.
  • To reconcile all jobs on the financial system alongside budget holders. Provide clear job bag evidence of cost approvals, change request and scope creep. 
  • To build and develop relationships with print and production suppliers and creative agencies; ensure our suppliers adhere to service level agreements, escalating issues to the Print Manager as appropriate
  • To provide a consultancy and partnering offer to teams around the organisation giving advice and assistance to internal clients on print and production matters, including running in-house training sessions.
  • Track process failures and the cost of these for constant improvement
  • Be familiar with and always adhere to all relevant Macmillan policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as reasonably required in line with skills, knowledge, and experience to contribute to Macmillan’s wider success
  • Showcase presentations to aligned departments to increase their print, mailing and production knowledge. 
  • To act as a Data Manager and ensure the team follows best practice data management and be fully aware of GDPR compliance.
  • To understand VAT implications of printed matter for charities.

To deputise for the Print Manager at internal and external meetings, where necessary
