About Hayley McRostie:
I'm a 31-year-old professional based in North Yorkshire with a passion for social care and administrative roles. With qualifications including an SVQ in Social Services, an HNC in Social Care, and a BA in Child and Youth Studies, I've cultivated a strong background in understanding and supporting individuals in need. Presently, I'm honing my administrative skills as a customer assistant at JLA within ITC Catterick while pursuing further education in business and administration at Darlington College through distance learning. My commitment to enhancing my skills, coupled with my robust interpersonal abilities, allows me to thrive in diverse work environments and make meaningful contributions.
Experience
During my time at Perth and Kinross Council from 2016 to 2022, I served as a dedicated Social Care Officer. My primary focus was providing essential support to children and young individuals with additional support needs within a residential respite setting. I took pride in creating a nurturing environment and ensuring the well-being and development of those under my care.
Before my role at the Council, I gained valuable experience as an insurance advisor, engaging in an administration-centered position. This role equipped me with skills in client interactions, policy management, paperwork processing, and delivering comprehensive information and guidance regarding insurance matters.
In 2022 to 2023, I further expanded my expertise by contributing as an Administration Assistant at the NHS. My responsibilities included tasks such as appointment scheduling, document management, and providing administrative support vital to the departments daily running.
Presently, I'm engaged as a Customer Service Assistant for JLA, working within an army barracks. Here, my focus lies in serving customers to a high standard leveraging my strong interpersonal skills and customer-centric approach to ensure everyone's requirements are met effectively.
My diverse professional journey showcases my adaptability, a strong foundation in social care, administration, and customer service. It reflects my commitment to making a meaningful impact across various sectors through support, care, and efficient administrative contributions.
Education
I hold a BA in Child and Youth Studies from the University of the Highlands and Islands, an HNC in Social Care from the University of the Highlands, and an SVQ 3 in Social Services from the University of the Highlands and Islands, I've honed my expertise in understanding the complexities of child development, youth behavior, and providing comprehensive support in social care settings. These qualifications have equipped me with a deep understanding of the nuances in caring for individuals with diverse needs and have laid a robust foundation for my professional journey.
Currently, I'm actively engaged in expanding my skill set through a Level 2 course in Business and Administration via the distance learning program at Darlington College. This program enables me to further enhance my administrative abilities, adding another dimension to my skill set and allowing me to amalgamate my social care background with sound administrative practices. This pursuit reflects my dedication to continuous learning and my commitment to evolving professionally to make a broader impact in various spheres of work.
