Personal profile

A highly knowledgeable & CIPD qualified professional with over 30 years’ experience in both a HR Business Partner role & a Generalist HR role. Self-motivated and highly driven, I have developed extensive commercial skills and place strong emphasis on delivering business results.

I develop excellent relationships successfully with Business Partners, peer group & colleagues at all levels. This is due to my innate ability to communicate & engage. Organisational capability and planning are among my key skills. I am an optimistic, empathetic, and resilient leader with fantastic people skills.

COUNSELLING

I began my counselling journey in September 2018 when I completed a Level 2 in Counselling Skills, this was followed by a Level 3 in Counselling Studies in September 2019. I achieved my CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in July 2022 and to achieve this qualification I was required to complete 100 counselling hours. I achieved this by completing a placement at a Secondary school and also a charitable organisation that supported families and children within a network of schools. I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am currently working towards my Accredited membership. I hold the necessary insurance and DBS certificate. Since qualifying I have achieved a further 180 counselling hours and I currently have a mix of clients, some are private and I also volunteer for a couple of hours each week for Action for Essex Carers. I am looking to transition my career into full time counselling work.

I have worked in HR for many years and have developed extensive relationships with a diverse range of people and it is my ability to empathise and connect with people which has led me to this career change. I also have considerable experience of the impact of change on an individual and other work-related issues and work stress.

As part of my commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) I am committed to ongoing learning through courses, podcasts and reading. This allows me to integrate other approaches and techniques into my work and to maintain professional standards.
