I am a highly accomplished continuous improvement manager with over 17 years’ experience, who has been responsible for implementing and delivering continuous improvement and productivity activity at sites throughout the EMEA region and within the human identification business unit for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Snr Manager, Manufacturing Planning

Leading the planning teams at the Warrington, French and Dutch sites within the GSX division of Thermo Fisher. I am responsible for ensuring the delivery of finished goods products to locations and distributions centres around the world. Ensuring targets are met for KPI’s such as Back order, LIFR/ OTIF and inventory. Helping manage the cost of goods within the business and supporting the supply chain with S&OE and SIOP activity. 

Achievements include:

  • Delivering $1.1 billion worth of revenue in 2022 at the Warrington site.
  • Improved statistical analysis of stock strategy within each distribution centre.

                                                Snr Manager PPI Business Systems

As part of my role I am the senior manager for continuous improvement (PPI) at the Warrington site and a member of the site leadership team. I am also responsible for supporting PPI with the EMEA region covering sites; Lelystad, Lissieu, St Petersburg and the HID business unit. I am responsible for a direct report at the Warrington site, and ensuring the delivering of AOP productivity savings, and the development process improvement capability including the training of site personnel within PPI. I have also been heavily involved with company projects such as Rapid HIT DNA

 

Achievements include:

 

  • Delivering $1.4 million worth of productivity savings in 2021.
  • 100% site engagement in PPI voluntary training

                                                Snr PPI Business System Specialist

As part of the site leadership team and senior manager, I am responsible for leading the implementation of the PPI business system at the Warrington site. Mentoring and supporting teams in the delivery of improvement projects and activity. Ensuring the delivering of AOP productivity savings, and in the development process improvement capability. Supporting the site in delivering COVID PCR test kits throughout the pandemic.

 

Achievements include:

 

  • Delivering $4.9 million worth of productivity savings in 2020, $1.7M in 2019, $1.5M in 2018 and $1.4 million in 2017.
  • 96% site engagement in improvement activity
  • Implementing site wide automation infrastructure changes.

                                                Business Excellence Specialist - EMEA Region 

Asked to return to this role, to facilitate operational excellence activity across the EMEA region. I was responsible for the development and implementation of High-Performance Work Team’s across the region, mentoring and supporting teams in delivering improvement projects through to fruition. I developed the statistical process control for multiple product lines, and the statistical validation of Cap Ex equipment and new product introductions. I was tasked with the implementation of a large IT project of data capture for all manufacturing and QC equipment which included electronic batch records for all manufactured materials. This role also includes managing the Warrington site material handling department focusing on improving the department’s performance and developing a long-term strategy for reducing human contact for stored materials.

 

Achievements include:

 

  • Delivering 30% increase in Material Handling throughput 2014-2015.
  • Implementation of High-Performance Work Teams (HPWT).
  • $750,000 of validated savings from HPWT (UK Sites Only) in 2013.
  • $800,000 of validated savings from HPWT (UK Sites Only) in 2014.
  • ROCCO – Excellence in Manufacturing Award 2012 for HPWT Implementation
  • Finalist for World Class Manufacturing Award 2013 ‘The Manufacturer’

 

2011- 2012                                                             Jaguar Land Rover, Liverpool

                                                   Paint Shop Production Process Engineer 

I was responsible for the development and improvement of processes used to build Land Rover Freelander and Range Rover Evoque within the Halewood Paint Shop. The role also involved driving the core business metrics within the paintshop – Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, Environment and using problem solving tools to resolve any issues.    I was actively involved in identifying and implementing cost, quality, and cycle time improvements. I also support new model introductions, and Cap Ex equipment installations.

Achievements include:

  • Improved cycle time for robotic application by 25% to support optimistic launch curve.
  • Development of improved quality measures for anti-corrosion performance of vehicles.
  • Reduced failure rate in robotic application of materials, improving OEE from 60% to 98.5%.
