Ophthalmology Surgical Intern- ZEISS- June 2019- July 2019

• Observed many cataract and glaucoma surgeries, learning more about the anatomy and physiology of the human eye.

Medical ward assistant- Dr Kershaw's Hospice and Royal Oldham hospital- November 2015- January 2017

• Involved in the provider of basic patient needs on the hospice ward and discharge unit in the hospital. Involved in retail work for the hospice shop, administration, hospice day care supervision and providing patients with other services.
• Communications and interactions with patients, family members and general customers was crucial in this setting, due to the vulnerable and sensitive nature of the environment. Showing consideration, politeness, and helpful contributions at all times whilst volunteering
• Gained medical knowledge and experience whilst working on the ward, from shadowing doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants whilst they would perform daily tasks. Tasks included routine health jobs, vital checks, patient notes, diagnostic protocols and observing administration of patient medications.
• Confidently and efficiently worked independently and alongside other volunteers to deliver the best service for patients in the hospice and the hospital.
