About Isabelle North:
I am looking at changing careers and going into the entertainment industry as music and entertainment is my true passion. I am currently a self-employed hairdresser and I’ve had my own business which is successful for the last 4.5 years. I have a lot of transferable skills like diary management, accounting, budgeting, customer services, networking, organising meet ups and training for other freelance hairdressers.
I got into hairdressing completely by accident and stuck at it. From a young age I’ve have always been around music and festivals due to my parents working at them. I broke my ankle recently and I’ve had chance to reflect on my life and make a plan for the future. I never wanted to be a hairdresser but I made a successful career out of it at a young age with no real idea of what I was doing. I know I can make it in the music industry because of how passionate I am, and I have drive!
I have no professional experience in the music business. I have shadowed a tour manager and pitched in helping my friends band and that is exactly how I want to live my life and work. I’m a quick learner and great at adapting to new work environments. I’m not scared of hard work or working long days. I am wanting to go into tour managing, artist development/ managing or A&R. I would like a job which is fast paced, social, has opportunity to grow, travel and possibilities to relocate outside of the UK.
Experience
Self-employed at 20 as a newly qualified hairdresser. I used social media to build up my clientele. I have experience on pilot films, preparing an actresses hair for a tv series, showcasing my work on a stage at a conference.
Early on in my hairdressing career I had to manage up 20 stylists diaries as well as keep on top of my apprentice duties. ie; receptionist, hair washers, blowdrying, cleaning, getting the whole salons lunches, stock rotation, customer service and attend training.
Barista/Waitress- Customer service, Till work, Bespoke coffee making.
Waitress- High speed turn over of sections, taking and delivering orders, taking bookings, using a till.
Pot washer/Kitchen Assistant- Prep food, fridge storage management, deep cleaning of the kitchen, washing the pots, helping the chefs as and when they need.
