Jack Slater

Hi! I'm a recent graduate with an MA in Translation Studies from Durham University and a BA in English & French from Oxford. At present, I'm looking for work in the translation industry that will allow me to both kickstart an in-house translation career and specialise in a certain field. My particular interests outside of the translation are in the sciences and sport. I look forward to meeting you and potentially working together in future!

The majority of my professional experience has been in the education sector, working as an EFL teacher in both France and Japan, however I also have a degree of office experience from my time working at the offices of a regional newspaper in Wiesbaden, Germany.

I have a Masters' degree in Translation Studies from Durham University, where I was trained both in translation theory and in the use of CAT tools. Whilst there, I also undertook a freelance translation project on behalf of Ushaw College, translating 18th century pastoral letters from French to English.
