Jack Walton

I'm Jack Walton, a recent Digital Marketing graduate from the University of Chester.

Throughout my studies, I developed a strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, social media, and public relations. I've applied these skills in real-world roles, including leading social media at Cammell Laird 1907 Football Club and designing marketing materials for Tranmere Rovers Official Supporters Club and Fleetwood Town Football Club. I’m ethusiastic, creative, and always eager to take on new challenges. Whether working independently or as part of a team, I stay focused, organised, and committed to achieving my goals.

I'm currently a podcast host and writer for The Deck, helping to build my confidence and public speaking.

Head of Social Media and Marketing, Cammell Laird 1907 Football Club

August 2019 - January 2022

During my time volunteering within this job, I developed key skills, such as communication, working within a time scale and organisation. Working with real-time social media helped my innovation, creative solutions and decision-making. I ran social media accounts, as well as certain aspects of commentary.

Lead Graphic Design and Marketing, Tranmere Rovers Official Supporters Club

July 2021 – June 2023 

Throughout my time at the TROSC, I communicated as part of a team, designing the Tranmere Rovers away kit for the 22/23 season, along with roll-up banners and posters, as well as large-scale banners. It helped improve my ability to take criticism, as I always strived to improve what was produced, as it was seen by a large fanbase. 

Games Operator, Breakout Chester

February 2023 – March 2024

At Breakout Chester, I had to communicate and build connections with the customers. They had an hour inside a trapped room whereby I had to communicate and help guide them to escaping. This helped me improve in confidence when it comes to writing that people may see. 

Showrooms Advisor, B&Q Chester

April 2024 – July 2025

At B&Q, my role was based around customer service. The job role included appointments with customers, having to build customer relations and design their desired kitchens & bathrooms. Communicating and understanding customers was essential in this role, as I was tasked with sales of over £1,000. During my time at B&Q, I also worked with Click&Collect, TradePoint, Stock management and Online orders, widening my skillset for future employment.

Podcast Host & Writer, The Deck

November 2024 – Present

At The Deck, my role was based around producing the best content for their intended audience. I was a host within the Fourth Tier Fever podcast each week, whilst I also took control of the podcast’s social media, in an effort to gain further valuable experience. I also wrote blog posts to improve my knowledge within the area of content writing.

I achieved a grade 5 or above in all GCSE subjects, whilst also gaining my firm offer to study at the University of my choice.

University of Chester – Digital Marketing Bachelor’s Degree

September 2022 – May 2024

Throughout my degree, I’ve gained knowledge in Digital Marketing, learning about topics such as email marketing, SEO, social media marketing, content marketing and public relations. I have now finished my course and have gained a 2:1 grade.
