About Jahir Israel:

A passionate Mathematician with strong numerical, analytical, and programming abilities I currently hold a First Class degree in Bsc (Hons) Mathematics.

 

I have work experience from several industries and my roles have mainly been data centric which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have received excellent feedback on my organisation, punctuality and communication skills. Teaching and supporting in chidrens education has exponentially grown as a passion as I continue to learn and explore more in education. My passion at heart and diverse experience will create a positive impact in school and various learning environments.

Experience

Math, English & Science Tutor - Remedy Tutors               05/2023 - Present

 

• Working with the Croydon Local authority inclusive of Independent, State and SEN Schools.

• Teaching Maths, English and Science to students of KS2 and upwards till GCSE.

• Students fall in the categories of SEN, SEMH, behaviour management, expelled, long wait for school placements.

• Provide an introductory lesson to understand the student as a person, assess their needs and then follow a plan on meeting objectives.

• Write and submit weekly reports on tuition objectives, feeback, attendance and cancellations.

• Currently , I teach online through a zoom platform and face to face at their house/library/care home.

 

Maths Tutor - Brightheart Education Limited     01/2023 - 06/2023

 

• This was a valuable experience in an organisation that is tailored to SEN and SEMH only.

• I was designated specifically to tutor Maths to autistic, anxious, dyslexic and other disadvantaged students.

• Online and F2F

• The schools would provide lesson objectives, levels and grades to work towards and I would try varioud approaches and utilise the best strategy to teach the student with.

• Ages ranged from KS2- GCSE

• Created monthly reports to track students progress , updating the schools with action plans of academic improvement, behaviour and areas of improvement

● An autistic reception child, General (year 10 and 11 & Reception) , visual impairment year 4 , the deaf unit year 4, behaviour schools. I was also working as a long term TA in Kew Green preparatory school (Year 2 class)  - Assisting the Teacher in montioring the children, covering when necessary, take aside higher able students and teach them maths separately so the class balance remains solid. Held responsible in teaching phonics 3 -4 times a week , keeping track of their reading daily and carrying out essentail tests such as spelling to track their level  (as well as English assessments).

• Within this role as a Maths teacher I am accountable and responsible in teaching the national curriculum level of Mathematics of various ages, each class being year 4 till GCSE Maths.

 

• On a weekly basis I am given a structure to follow, where I plan independently to ensure all topics are covered at the highest of quality, so all students develop a good understanding and make progress.

 

• Additionally, I set homework on different subjects taught within Mathematics and give them till the following next lesson to bring in. As a teacher I am responsible in marking with clear working solutions where needed and appropriate feedback for the student’s awareness of making improvement.

 

• Writing reports is a termly task and I write out formally of the students behavior, academic performance and suggestions of improvement.

 

• For high school students I create tests using my own initiative with respect to the national curriculum taught to keep track of their progress.

 

• This job is very enjoyable, extremely interactive and one that is continuously enhancing my skills in communication, planning and building good rapport.
